Hello,
Our company is in a busy period at the moment with more business coming up than we could never respond to. So it's been kind of a tough time the last days at work..
Got a tip from my girlfriend today that Fnac (a big multimedia store in France) was doing a special offer for the Harry Potter movies so I went there and bought the four first movies for 30 euros. Seems like a good deal but finally we were too tired to finish the first one today.
We will see for the week-end if we might stay in Paris, can be good to rest a few days as well as we went to Swiss last week-end.
I'm trying to work out on a "post a comment" section below but it seems more complicated than I could imagine. Hopefully I will manage later as this blog otherwise will be boring.
Time to sleep now

Hello,
Came back late last night from Montreux, Switzerland and it was a very nice place. Big mountains next to a wonderful lake...
We took the TGV to go there and I must say that the French trains are extremely fast and very convenient to take!! It was just unluck that we had problems with the booking and had to pay some extra.
For the next week-end, it seems like we'll go to Deauville. A city at the coast towards the Atlantic Ocean, west from Paris. Hopefully the weather can be nice and I can play some golf.
At the moment I'm watching a French dubbed version of Simpsons and it's a fact that I'm getting more and more used to French voices instead of the real. I still wonder though when the France will start using subtitles instead of dubbing.
I think I'm kind of divided in this subject. It's good to keep the french culture but at the same time, the habitants might get behind as globalisation gets more and more usual.
Thanks for visiting,

Hello ,
Another day with bad weather in Paris. 18 degrees Celsius in July seems a little low. Feels like the "Day after tomorrow" is getting closer and closer... Within this subject, I can strongly recommend the Al Gore movie if someone hasn't seen it yet.
I talked to my sister earlier today and she seems to be very happy!! She is now at Mallorca for a training to become a bartender. I hope she will manage to get her diploma and later on get a good job so she can stay there as she wants.
Otherwise, nothing special. Went after work today to pick up my girl friend to go to her mother for a dinner. This was off course amazingly good as usual. Unfortunately we had to leave early as we needed to pack for our week-end trip to Switzerland from tomorrow. As a consequence, I will probably not write before Sunday...
Have a nice week-end!!

Hello,
As I live in France, it can be interesting to see what is mentioned on internet about France. I will try to write in several parts different things about France and its history. Today I will define the origin of the name France. Wikipedia is defining France in several different ways and I am using the one I find more interesting:
"Another proposed etymology is that in an ancient Germanic language, Frank means free as opposed to slave. This word still exists in French as franc, it is also used as the translation of "Frank" and to name the local money, until the use of the Euro in the 2000s."
For me, when considering my daily life and thinking of the history (especially the french revolution), no country wants to show that they are more "free" than France and its people. This proudness is something reflected in more or less every decision French people are taking...
It's getting late so I will have to continue this discussion later..

Hello,
Just watching lost season 3 on teve now.
The day has not been very excited, we finally bought our tickets to Switzerland for the week-end so it will be nice to leave France for a few days.
As you might know, SNCF has a monopoly control over the passenger train network in France. Now, before the holidays, the homepage has been over booked and more or less crashed down when it comes to payment of tickets. This led to that we had to go to a train station after work to buy the tickets (without the otherwise very good internet discount) which now cost a fortune.
However, now we have the tickets atleast.
Need to continue watching Lost now.

Hello,
As July is starting from today I hope to see a big improvement in the weather. We had better weather in April than in May and June, which shall not really be the case.
Yesterday I took it easy. The new serie "Heroes" started on french channel TF1 and I must say that it was better than I expected! The story is about several people, independent from each other, that finds out that they have supernatural abilities.
Today we will go and watch the final on a tennis tournament in here around Paris. It will be interesting because aparently Mats Wilander, the former Swedish Roland Garros winner, will play before to attract some audience.
Need to go and buy some cheese now so will try to update more later.

Hello,
Thursday, me, my girlfriend, a colleague, her boyfriend and another colleague from our asian office went to "Le Zebra" in Paris to see the concert of Clark. A very good groupe with a lots of potential...
Clark tend to play good alternative music with a touch of Deep Purple through the excellent pianist. For sure I will continue listen to Clark in the future...
However, the funny thing was in fact when we left the concert and was going for a taxi home... As always in Paris, to get a taxi is a war, but this time, it beat all the records!!! The problem was in fact that when we finally managed to get a taxi to stop for us, we said good bye to each other... Meanwhile, another guy jumped in to the taxi and stole it in front of us! After arguing five minutes with the taxi driver, he left and five minutes later we got another taxi to go home.
Such a mess but for sure the reason of the problem is that there are not enough taxi drivers in Paris..
Thanks

Hello everybody,
Nothing exciting happened today...
It's getting really tough at work since a few days so it was cool to go to the "Fruit Paradise" when I finished work.
Met up with my girlfriend and another couple and I must say that "Paradis du Fruit" is not to bad. Everything has an exotic touch and ezpecially the fruit drinks are amazing. I tried a mixture of youghurt and banana which was extremely good!!
Anyway, nothing to say of value. The news for the day is that we have sales in Paris from today that will last for a few weeks. COOL HEIN!!
Tomorrow, we will go to a concert in Oberkapf which shall be really good.

Just to tell that I'm so happy because I pased my French exam at the third level so after the summer I will start the fourth level!!!
For everybody that don't know, the languages schools in Paris normally divides the french level into five groupes. Level one is for beginners and level five is for the students almost fluent speaking..
There are several different schools to learn how to speakand to write French in Paris. In the beginning I went to Alliance Francaise which is a good school but very expensive. The price ends up to about 50 euros per week.
After a while I found that a little too expensive so now I am going at class by the Mayor of Paris (Mairie de Paris). The qulity is the same but the price is only around 60 euros for four months.
The only difference is probably the amount of students in the class. At the Mayor we have about 25 students in the class while only between 10 and 15 at the Alliance Francais.
Now I will try to update the design on this blog..
